g5 RA and TA mix.
No idea how much time in but the time used was fun. Its not like grinding pve titles where the fun part is when you get the title. You do it for fun and the title is a side thing.

2 years = glad 3 (3rd and 4th GW years)
1 year = glad 4
If we speak about hours i can`t give you any info about it. I have calculated that if you spend time to earn 3 points per day, you can gain new ranks in this title for 2 months (low levels). But no matter how hard i go, i can`t do it. Rank 5 is a good goal and it can be scored even if you don`t stay in RA/TA all day.

I got from g2, to my current g6 from december to april. Though im in the most 1 of the most skilled sync allys, that definetly contributes to it.

most likely (actually, quite certainly) you never set foot into TA so refrain from such generalising.

I will say that this title is all about luck : you can either never get an " ok " team thus not grow up much , either get : no monk team going well and fighting 3 hexers + monk at 5th consec ( a usual situation ) , fighting sync team who keep going on dead hours ( saw twice 4 ppl from [zulu] few min ago ) , get afk or leaver at bad time , having to fight kind of counter-build when you finally got a heale , and etc...
Thus , yo ucan either be glad 5 after few months, or glad 1-2 after few years ..

Maximum Squid is G11 and has been since the point adjustment, I'm not sure if anyone has caught up yet.

I currently have g4, haven't really played Arenas much after the TA removal. Got around half my points from TA and the other half from RA.
On another side note, there are around five g11s out there, but none that have maxed the title yet.

the ONLY legit (legit as in not gained through a bug when changing from one glad point system to another) g11 (I know of) is and will very likely stay Identity.
You say there are 5 legitimate glad11's out there? I say there are not.

I did g6 in the summer of 2008 playing RA nonstop on the weekends and TA during dead hour when you could get long runs vs. pugs and RA teams with shitty builds like smiting and hexes. Nowhere close to g7, it's much harder to get points in RA now unless you sync, monk decently or master one gimmick build and play nothing but that to farm. I always considered RA to be the "fun" format where you could play or builds you otherwise wouldn't be able to in higher end formats though.

I have G4. Took me almost 2 year I think. I Had long GW breaks in those 2 years tho. I haven't got any pts with TA teams. So it's just RA.
It's funny how I started to play RA very casually. But enjoying it so much that I did it daily. G3 was really becoming my goal after an while, and now i'm just playing it casually again. Noticing, i'm alrdy halfway to G5

I would have thought Sleepy was getting close. I thought he was 9 back when we used to 3-man it with randoms out of the lobby and somehow beat everyone not on his team. Plus word has it he's still slogging through RA with syncs, or does that de-legitimize the title for you? Or perhaps he's just further away than I thought. I guess we never saw him without Identity, but sometimes saw Identity without the other guys.
Can't think of anyone else, though.
I often wonder how many points people would have if the glad title were retroactive. RA was definitely a cesspool by the time they were implemented (and points made it much worse). I can't recall exactly what the TA metagame was at the time, but the fact that it had one speaks volumes.
I can't even fathom playing RA for glad points. TAing for them would be bad enough (at least post Eye of the North), but RA would probably make me homicidal if I actually gave a shit about long-term win percentage.

Anyone know as to why they haven't changed the Glad Title progress with TA gone now? Seems kinda weird that the points have stayed the same. Why make a cap on the title track if it isn't supposed to be maxed? Why make the cap so high if it is supposed to be maxed? Seems really odd to me. Anyone have any links to official stances on this at all? Would be nice to see their reasoning for keeping it the same now that TA is gone.

All PvP titles have no maximum.
As for changing Glad points, I'm not really sure what you're trying to accomplish by doing that. It would certainly eat up valuable developer time to change, with no real benefit that I can see. This alone is a good enough reason for maintaining almost any status quo in the game at this point. I may start a thread on this later.
If you're talking about the 25-win cap, that was changed when TA left. It used to jettison you into TA at 10, where it was pretty unrealistic to go for more than about 5 after maybe 2006.

Starcraft maxed the hero title some time ago, with a handful of others shortly after.

Are you saying the scailing patch was a bug in itself, or was there an actual bug with it?

I agree the title is more about time spent. If you monk you can carry a mediocre team to victory. If you mes, you can shutdown 3 characters and still lose.

I played with some R9 asians before they overhauled the gladiator title, so I'd say these guys could be r11 now too.

I'm r6, and that's with huge inactivity times.
I would probably be r10 at least, if the title was retroactive (good ol' Prophecy days).
Oh and, no syncing. I did try syncing but that's all. And although it's easiest to gain points with a monk, I play mesmer and it's fine.
What's sad is that PvErs can flash their Zaishen emoticons but Gladiator rank has no emoticon. How does that make sense.

there was an actual bug with it and as far as i know the jump to g11 was the only one or at least, the most known.
monking for mediocre team is a gamble.
